Privacy
naTadabar is built to stay out of your way. Most of the app runs without any data ever leaving your device. This page explains what we do collect, why, and how you can reach us about it.
What stays on your device
The Quran text, translations, scholarly commentary, dictionary, audio reciter catalog, reading progress, bookmarks, and all of your tadabbur study notes are stored locally on your iPhone or iPad. They never leave the device unless you explicitly opt into premium cloud sync.
What we collect, and why
- Anonymous product analytics. We use PostHog to count which features people use so we know what to improve. Events are sent without your name, email, or any content from your notes. You can disable analytics in the app's settings at any time.
- Optional cloud sync (premium). If you upgrade to premium and sign in, your tadabbur documents, bookmarks, and reading progress are sent to our private storage (Supabase) so they sync across your devices. Media attachments (handwriting, voice memos, images) are compressed client-side before upload. Row-level security means only your account can read your rows.
- Waitlist signups on this website. If you enter your email on natadabar.com to be notified when the app launches, we store it in a private Supabase table. We use it only to email you about launch and never share or sell it. You can ask us to delete it at any time.
What we don't do
- We don't show ads.
- We don't sell or share your data with advertisers.
- We don't use tracking pixels, third-party analytics trackers, or session replay on this site.
- We don't require an account for the core reading, listening, or study experience.
Third parties
naTadabar uses the following services, each for a narrow purpose:
- Apple Sign in with Apple / iCloud. For authentication and on-device iCloud sync of tadabbur documents.
- Supabase. For optional premium cross-device sync, and for this website's launch waitlist.
- Google OAuth / Apple OAuth. Optional sign-in methods.
- PostHog. Anonymous product analytics.
Children
naTadabar is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us so we can remove it.
Your rights
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal data we hold about you by emailing hello@natadabar.com. We'll respond within a reasonable time.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy materially, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top and highlight the change on the homepage.
